William H. "Bill" Owen, III, age 83, of Breese, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at HSHS St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born March 24, 1943, to the late Marjorie Owen, née Pendelton, and William H. Owen II.

Bill is survived by his children, William Owen IV of Highland and Kimberlee (Ron) Calvert of Collinsville; grandchildren, William Owen V, Lindsay Owen, Rachael Calvert, Sabrina Owen, and Tyler Calvert; great-grandchildren, Micah, Alexia, Alyssa, and Eyler; and a great-great-grandchild, Harllow.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Owen; and brothers, Bobby Owen, Ronnie Owen, and Donnie Owen.

Bill was a graduate of East St. Louis High School. He worked as an Insurance Claims Adjuster for Atlanta Casualty Insurance Company for many years. Bill had a lifelong love of cars and enjoyed dining out with family and friends. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his family and creating lasting memories with those he loved.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Anderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or HSHS St. Elizabeth Hospital and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, which is serving the family.
