Shyann R. Ricks, age 8, of Champaign, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign. She was born July 27, 2017, in Breese, a daughter of Rickey and Amanda (nee Phillips) Ricks of Carlyle.

Shyann is survived by her siblings, Austin, Jordan, Brayden, Dennis, Colt, Belle, Rawlins, and Waylon Ricks; grandparents, Charles Hardy of Terre Haute, IN and Jennie (Mike) Warren of Centralia; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shyann was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Nina Ricks and maternal grandfather, Raymond Phillips.

Shyann brought endless joy to those who knew her. She was always smiling and found her greatest happiness in the company of other children. She loved listening to music, spending time with her dog, and soaking up the sunshine on beautiful days outdoors.

Memorial Service will be Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Rev. Scott Broughton officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family (checks payable to Amanda Ricks) and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5 ^th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
