Ruth A. Grawe, age 82, of Breese, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Evercare of Breese. She was born January 31, 1944, in Breese, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Eugenia (nee Eilers) Ratermann.

Ruth married Frank Grawe on November 26, 1964, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2023. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim (Joanne) Ratermann and Larry Ratermann; parents-in-law, Henry and Theresa (nee Kleber) Grawe; and brother-in-law, Jerry Hollenkamp.

Ruth is survived by her children, Michael Grawe of Belleville and Stacey Grawe of Breese; former daughter-in-law, Cheryl Sauer of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Raegan and Andrew Grawe; sister, Donna (Ed) Rolfingsmeyer of Aviston; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy Ratermann of Breese, Tom (Barb) Grawe of Breese, Mary Ann Huelsmann of Trenton, and Agnes (Butch) Wellen of Highland; and nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and in-home daycare provider for many years. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. She was a woman of simple pleasures, enjoying cutting grass and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Jim Nall presiding. Interment will follow at St. Dominic – St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese

In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th Street, Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
