Roy Alonzo Day, age 68 of Alhambra, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the home of his
nephew in Gillespie, IL.

He was born on Friday, June 21, 1957, in Jerseyville, IL, the son of Amos and Rosella (nee Crabtree) Day.

Alonzo graduated from Highland High School. He was self-employed as a handyman. Alonzo liked to ride
his bike. He enjoyed watching wrestling and playing slots. He loved joking around with people and didn’t
know a stranger.

James F. (Dawn Roberts) McCoig, Jr., Gillespie, IL; Nieces and Nephews - 17; Great Nieces and Nephews – 27; Great Great Nieces and Nephews - 6.

Crabtree) McCoig Died 8/5/2024; Step Father - James F. McCoig, Sr., U.S. Army, Retired - Died

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Dauderman Mortuary in
Alhambra, IL and from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Dauderman Mortuary in
Alhambra, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL.,
with Rev. Mark Gause, officiating.

Interment will be at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro, IL, at 2:30 PM with Pastor Aaron
Waddington, officiating.
