Leona Clara Marti, age 93 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home in Highland, IL.

She was born on Tuesday, January 5, 1932, in Bartelso, IL, the daughter of Julius and Mary (nee Brueggemann) Lengermann.

On Saturday, May 7, 1955, she married Roy Joseph Marti at St. Paul Catholic Church, who passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Anne Altar Society.

Leona was born in Bartelso and attended St. Cecelia School. Leona worked at Highland Supply from 1948-1956. She then raised her family. In 1972, she started at St. Paul School working there until 2007. She worked with her husband maintaining the Parish and School. Leona enjoyed gardening, baking, puzzles, cross-stitching and canning. She loved sewing and gave each of her children a quilt. Leona adored her time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Father Teddy Adukus, St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
