Kathryn G. "Kate" Stevenson, age 81, of Breese, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden. She was born September 2, 1943, in Breese, a daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Hazel (nee Edwards) Nave.

In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Stevenson, whom she married February 6, 1965, in Carlyle and who died May 26, 2024; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry Stevenson, Betty Lou Clymens, James Liening, Tom Katusich, and Peggy Stevenson.

Kate is survived by her brother, Vernon (Debbie) Nave of Carlyle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenny (Janice) Stevenson of Pocahontas, Charlotte Liening of Jamestown, Charlene (John) Grapperhaus of Highland, Charles Stevenson of Breese, Sandy (Richard) Peters of Germantown, Jane (Mike) Koehler of Beckemeyer, and Marie Stevenson of Breese; and nieces and nephews.

Kate's life was one of care and kindness. She dedicated many years to working as a babysitter and nanny, touching the lives of numerous families. She also worked in housekeeping at Carlyle Healthcare Center, where her hardworking nature and friendly presence were deeply appreciated.

She was a faithful member of St. John United Church of Christ and an active participant in T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). In her free time, Kate found joy in crocheting, long conversations on the phone, and playing cards—especially rummy.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Rev Christy Smith officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Ellwood Cemetery in Breese.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Clinton Manor Living Center Activity Fund and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5 ^th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
