John A. Hunt, age 55, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his home.

He was born August 24, 1968 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Patricia, nee Altnether, and Robert Hunt, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vincent and Fran, nee Wuest, Deien; and a niece, Kayla Satterfield.

John is survived by his wife Cheri, nee Deien, Hunt of Trenton, whom he married May 1, 2001 in Carlyle; children, Kristen (Josh) Sapaw of Waterloo, Dylan Hunt of Waterloo, and Mei-Li Hunt of Trenton; grandchildren, Connor and Rylee Sapaw; siblings, Robert (Oral) Hunt, Jr., Michael (Dawn) Hunt, Catherine (Glen) Hanson, Jacqueline Hunt, and Debbie (Thomas) Williams; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don (Lynette) Deien, Ron (Sherry) Deien, Darla (Jack Webster) Satterfield, and Jim (Caitlyn) Deien of Trenton; many nieces and nephews, four great-nieces, and one great-nephew.

John retired from the Wesclin School District where he worked as a bus driver for 19 years and formerly worked as an EMT for Sugar Creek EMS.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St., Trenton, IL  62293, who is serving the family.
