James Milton Dillow, age 88 of Highland, IL, died Monday, December 23, 2024, at his home in Highland, IL.

He was born on Friday, January 31, 1936, in Highland, IL, the son of Herbert and Anna (nee Landert) Dillow.

On Saturday, October 12, 1963, he married Susan Alberta Dillow (nee Schiermeyer) at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Jennings, MO, who survives.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1580-Highland, IL., Marine Sportsmen's Club, Marine, IL.

Born and raised in Highland, IL; graduated from Highland High School, in 1953. He worked for the Alton South Rail Road for 17 years; co-owner of Dillow Bros Texaco with his brother, Highland, IL. for 20 years. Later he worked for and retired from Highland Community Schools as a janitor, in 1999. He ran a shuttle for many years to St. Louis. He enjoyed collecting cars; his 1956 Ford Fairlane convertible is still in the family. He raced at Alton and that car is still in the family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL,

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
