Dolores C. “Girly” Rickhoff, age 86, of Bartelso, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. She was born on February 24, 1940, in Bartelso, the daughter of the late Fred and Agnes (nee Gebke) Trame.
On May 22, 1962, she married Edward “Peabody” Rickhoff at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso, and he survives. Girly is also survived by her children, Phyllis (Terry) Frankovich of Aviston, Jerry “Flake” (Kim) Rickhoff of Bartelso and Jim “Beaver” (Denise) Rickhoff of Bartelso; grandchildren, Brittany (Jay) Strieker, Courtney Rickhoff, Maddie Rickhoff, Mia Rickhoff, Ayden Rickhoff, Tony (Krystal) Rickhoff, Carli (Kyle) Timmermann and Zachary (Jessica) Rickhoff; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jenny Vogel of Bartelso and Marion Krebs of Breese; sister-in-law, Dolores Seelhoefer of Bartelso, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Auggie (Loretta “Tootie”) Trame and Paulie Trame; parents-in-law, Bernard and Sophie (nee Kniepmann) Rickhoff; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim Vogel, Agnes (Frank) Winkeler, Vince “Peggy” (Sue) Rickhoff, Herman Seelhoefer, Raymond “Doc” (Johanna) Rickhoff and Clarence “Yank” (Flossie) Rickhoff.
A talented seamstress by trade, Girly poured her creativity and precision into her work and her lifelong passion for quilting. Over her lifetime, she meticulously crafted more than 950 quilts, leaving behind a warm, tangible legacy that her family and friends will cherish forever.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Girly was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality, where she found great comfort, purpose, and community.
When she wasn't sewing, Girly loved being outdoors and staying active. In her younger years, she could be found out on the golf course, and throughout her life, she thoroughly enjoyed camping trips and following county league baseball. She was also an avid football fan who loved cheering on the St. Louis Rams.
Above all, Girly cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She loved a good card game, where her competitive streak and notorious tendency to playfully cheat always kept her opponents laughing and on their toes. Her warmth, humor, and vibrant energy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
