Dean A. Hartsburg, age 71, of Aviston, formerly of Greenville, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Aviston Countryside Manor. He was born on February 18, 1955, in Linton, IN, a son of the late Delmar and Majorie (nee Buck) Hartsburg.

Dean is survived by his wife, Shirley Ellen Auffert; brother, Doug L. Hartsburg of Trenton; sister-in-law, Julie Hartsburg of Trenton; many nieces and nephews and Dean was like a father to Matthew, Brandi and Amber, as well as like a grandfather to many.

Dean had a vibrant spirit and a variety of passions. He was an avid coin collector, and he thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of playing bingo and various games with family and friends. A passionate sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. His kindness, playful nature, and dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Deans wishes were to be cremated with no services.
