Ruth J. Bergmann 72 of Bartelso died Thursday December 29, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. 

She was born May 23, 1939 in Albers, IL to Edward and Cecilia (Koerkenmeier) Jansen: they preceded her in death. 

She married Joseph “Fitz” Bergmann June 12, 1963 at St. Augustine Church in Breese and he preceded her in death July 9, 2010. 

Surviving are her children Leon Bergmann of St. Louis Park MN and Kathy (Tracy) Oertel of Germantown. 

4 grandchildren Trevor and Abby Bergmann, Craig and Morgan Oertel. 

Brothers Elmer Jansen of St. Louis, MO, Lee (Lynette) Jansen of St. Louis, MO, Daniel (Maureen) Jansen of Breese. 

Sisters Edna (Lavern) Lowe of Carlyle, Joyce (Phillip) Detmer of Breese. 

Ruth was a retired cook from Bartelso Grade School. She loved to quilt, read and above all she loved her children and grandchildren. 

Member of St. Cecilia Church and Altar Sodality in Bartelso. 

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday December 31, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating. Interment St. Cecilia Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Friday December 30 from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday December 31 from 8 to 9:30 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown. 

Memorials can be made to St. Cecilia Church and will be received at the funeral home.
