Leroy Zimmermann, 79, of Trenton, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Mercy Continuing Care in Chesterfield, MO. 

He was born November 19, 1932 in New Baden, IL to Raymond and Irene (Singler) Zimmermann: they preceded him in death. 

Also preceded in death by a brother Emmitt Zimmermann, father and mother-in-law Ferd and Veronica (Mondt) Lager, brother-in-law Gervase Lager, sister-in-law Eileen Hegger. 

He married Virginia Lee Lager December 26, 1953 at St. Francis Church in Aviston and she survives in Trenton. 

Also surviving are his children Randy (special friend Barb Haegele) Zimmermann of St. Louis, MO, Scott Zimmermann of Saudi Arabia, Lisa (Chuck) Haselhorst of Trenton. 

Grandchildren Grant and Jenna Haselhorst. 

A sister-in-law Liz Zimmermann of New Baden. 

Brothers in law Paul “Grumpy” (Ruth) Lager of Aviston, Floyd Lager of California. 

Leroy retired from Community Bank of Trenton in 1997 as Vice President of the bank. His banking career began in 1957. 

He was member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton and Knights of Columbus council 2932 in Trenton. Leroy was an army veteran serving from 1953 to 1955. 

Memorial mass will be Friday December 30, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made to his grandchildren educational fund or Mater Dei High School and will be received through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. 

Keeping with his wishes cremation services were selected.
