Tillie Willi, nee Warnecke, 94 of Breese, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Breese Nursing Home. 

Mrs. Willi was born May 27, 1917 in Breese, IL to Bernard and Olinda (Lappe) Warnecke; they preceded her in death. 

She married Albert Willi on August 15, 1942 in Chicago, IL; he preceded her in death on August 3, 2004. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Alvin Willi; a sister, Olinda Warnecke; brothers, Harold, John, Adolph “Bud”, and Alvin Warnecke; and sisters-in-law, Amy Warnecke and Cecilia Warnecke. 

Surviving are her children, Linda (David) Hilmes of Lockport, IL and Carl (Cristine) Willi of Portsmouth, RI; a daughter-in-law, Terri Willi of O’Fallon; 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mabel Warnecke of Beckemeyer and Doris Warnecke of Indiana. 

As a young woman, Tillie worked as nanny in St. Louis and also worked in a hospital in Chicago.  After her marriage to Albert, she was a homemaker and was involved with the PTA at her children’s school. 

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Breese and Breese American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary. 

Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Rev. Allan Mason officiating.  Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

The Breese American Legion Auxiliary will hold services at 9:15 AM Saturday morning at the funeral home. 

Memorials can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to St. John’s Church or Cemetery and will be received at the funeral home.
