Ardel
E. Vander Pluym (Nee Lager), 90 of Breese, died Wednesday, May 4,
2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.
Ardel was the wife of the late Robert Vander Pluym.
She
was born December 14, 1920 the daughter of the late Alvin and
Henrietta (Ward) Lager.
Also
preceded in death by 2 brothers James Lager and wife Frances and
Alvin Lager Jr.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Mary (Chad) Roberts of Salem, Beth
(Charley) Grapperhaus of Breese and Teresa Jansen of Breese.

grandchildren, Cheryl (Shawn) Johnson, Kristen (fiancé David Wright)
Hollenkamp, Keith Hollenkamp, Cole (Beth) Grapperhaus, Katie
Grapperhaus, Brian Jansen and Brent Jansen.

great grandchildren, Billy and Madelyn Johnson, Adeline and Alex
Wright.
Ardel
married Robert “Bob” Vander Pluym in New Brunswick, NJ on January
10, 1946 while Bob was still in the service. Bob and Ardel were
lifelong residents of Breese, and celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Ardel
was employed as office Secretary at the former ASCS office in
Breese, now known as Farm Service Agency. She retired in March of
1988 after 37 years of Service.
She
was a member of St. Dominic’s Church, attended St. Dominic Grade
School and High School, and graduated from Aviston High School.
Also a member of St. Dominic Altar Sodality and the Daughters of
Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718 in Breese.
Memorial Service Monday May 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Dominic
Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment St.
Dominic ~ St. Augustine Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday May 9, 2011 from 9:30 am to time of
service at St. Dominic Church in Breese.
Memorials can be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary
Lights for Scholarship and will be received by Moss Funeral Home in
Breese, who is handling the arrangements. |
