Evelyn A. “Evie” Thurman 91 of Trenton died Wednesday March 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. 

She was born April 28, 1919 in New Baden to Charles and Margaret (Zapp) Peter: they preceded her in death. 

She married Ralph “Pokey” Thurman October 9, 1941 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death March 7, 1997. 

Also preceded in death by a daughter Suellen Bair, a sister-in-law Vivian Peter. 

Surviving is a son Jerry (Dixie) Thurman of Pottsboro TX. 

A son-in-law Oliver (Marie) Bair of Trenton. 

7 grandchildren Andrea (Aaron) Vogel, Rebecca Thurman, Marsha (John) Fox, Tim (Cheryl) Bair, Darrell (Darla) Bair, Susan (Dave) Peterson, Lana (Jarrod) Tobin. 

14 great grandchildren. 

A brother Carl Peter of Lexington, KY. 

Sisters, Dorothy Peter of Denver CO., Margie (Carl) Peter of Trenton. 

Evie was a homemaker 

Member of St. John United Church of Christ and Woman’s Fellowship in Trenton, Order of the Eastern Star, past president, vice president and secretary of the Trenton Senior Citizens. 

Memorial Service Monday Mach 7, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Linda Coulson officiating Interment Trenton Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Sunday March 6 from 5 to 7 PM and Monday March 7 from 9 to 10 am at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton 

Memorials can be made to St. John United Church of Christ and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is handling the arrangements.
