Bernice Anna Savitt 80 of Trenton died Thursday December 1, 2011 in Edwardsville, IL at the Relais Bonne Eua Hospice House. 

She was born January 6, 1931 in E. St. Louis, IL to William and Bernice Elizabeth (Yociss) Savitt: they preceded her in death. 

Also preceded in death by a brother Robert Savitt, a sister-in-law Suzanna Savitt, Aunt Julia Yociss, nephew Jon Charles Rosenkranz, a niece Kathryn Rosenkranz 

Surviving is a brother William Anthony (Jane) Savitt of Neshkoro, WI 

A sister Rosemary (Asa Dean) Rosenkranz of Trenton 

Nieces and nephews Lynn (Allan) Saviskas, Edward (Vira) Rosenkranz, Anne Nickinello Kristen (Mark) Lutzke, Kevin (Meghan) Savitt, Kent (Sheri) Savitt, Robert (Laurie) Savitt, Elizabeth (Marty) Colin, Philip Savitt 

Cousins Frank and Ann Yociss, Ronald and Shirley Yociss, David and Judy Yociss, Rosalie and Frank DiBello 

Bernice graduated from St, Louis University in 1955 with her Bachelors’ in Nursing, and Boston University in 1964 with her masters in Nursing. She retired from St. Xavier University in Chicago as Associate Professor of Maternal Child Nursing. She also works Visiting Nursing Association in Louis, MO, Instructor Maternity Nursing DePaul Hospital St. Louis, MO, Beth Israel Hospital Prenatal Class Instructor Boston, MA, and Nursing Faculty University of Washington 

Bernice was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton, Woman’s Club of Trenton, Carlyle Lake Audubon Society, Red Hatters, and Trenton Book Club. She was a volunteer at Cahokia Mounds State Park Historic Site 

Memorial service will be Wednesday December 7, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Joseph Rascher officiating. Interment at a later date. 

Visitation will be Wednesday December 7 from 10 am to time of services at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton. 

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Kaskaskia College Nursing Scholarship, and Green Bean Pantry in Trenton and will be received at church or through Moss Funeral Home in Trenton who is handling the arrangements.
