Joanne Ritzheimer, 79, of Trenton
died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.
Mrs. Ritzheimer was born
April 25, 1932
in Columbus,
OH to Herbert and Edna (Martin) Olpp.
She married Richard Ritzheimer on
February 11, 1956 at St. Francis Church in Columbus, OH; he survives
in Trenton.
In addition to her husband, she is
survived by her two sons, Tom (Patty) Ritzheimer of Trenton and Dan
(Ann) Ritzheimer of Edwardsville; 4 Grandchildren, Jim and Paul
Ritzheimer of Trenton and Nicole and Natalie Ritzheimer of
Edwardsville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger (Katie)
Ritzheimer of Breese, Ralph (Bonnie) Ritzheimer of Breese, Russell
and (Sis) Ritzheimer of Trenton, and Emma Lou( Loren) Holzinger of
Highland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; a brother, Dick Olpp and his wife Virginia and a sister,
Jane Scott and her husband Carl; and brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Ray and Doris Ritzheimer.
Joanne was the secretary for Pastor
George Schuette of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Klasing’s
Motor Service, and Perm-a-Green, all of Trenton.
She was a giving and caring person
always volunteering and helping others and was a true Christian.
She was a dedicated sports fan following her dad, brother, husband,
sons, and grandchildren playing basketball, baseball, football,
volleyball, and softball. Joanne was a rabid Ohio State Buckeye
football fan, a huge Wesclin Athletics fan at all levels, and a
baseball trivia expert always answering questions with her favorite
answer of Ty Cobb. She enjoyed being an original member of the
Hank’s Bowl Coffee Ladies Club.
She was a member of St. John’s
United Church of Christ in Trenton and served in various clubs and
offices of the church. She recently completed a two year term as
president of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and was a dedicated
member.
Joanne has donated her body to St.
Louis University School of Medicine and will be remembered with a
visitation from 2:00-4:00 PM and a memorials service at 4:00 PM on
Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. John’s United Church of Christ
in Trenton.
Memorials can be made to St. John’s
United Church of Christ or to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary
and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home in
Trenton who is handling the arrangements. |
