Bernard “Oshay” Owens 72 of Breese died Tuesday October 4, 2011 at his residence. 

He was born February 24, 1939 in Greenbrier, MO to William and Ann (Garner) Owens: they preceded him in death.  

Also preceded in death by a brother Robert Owens, sisters Eula Bierwerth, Doris Trainum, brothers-in-law Donald Bierwerth, Darryl Broderick. and Lamar Trainum.

He married Sandra Clark September 25, 1964 in E. St. Louis, IL and she survives in Breese 

Also surviving are his children Michael (Stacey) Owens of O’Fallon, Susan (Daniel) Potthast of Beaver Prairie, Kelly (Matt) Stallmann of Evansville, IN. 

7 grandchildren Jessica, Zoey, Cassie, Zachary, Quintin, Drew, Brittany. 

Brothers Carol (Geri) Owens of Atlanta GA, Bill Owens of North Carolina. 

Sisters Sharron (Fred) Martinez of Highland, Mary Priddy of Marion, Janet (Joe) Richardson of Sorrento. 

Brothers and sisters-in-law Frances Owens of St. Louis, Patricia (Joe) Indelicato of St. Louis, James (Dor Ann) Clark of St. Louis, Sharon (Niles) Hodges of St. Louis, Theresa (Lee) Juenger of Marissa, Debbie Smith of Jasonville, IN, Holly Broderick of Cedar Rapids, IA 

Bernard was retired Truck Driver. 

Memorial service Friday October 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with VNA-TIP Hospice Chaplain Eric Williams officiating. 

Reception of family and friend will be Friday October 7 from 12:00 PM to time of Service at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to VNA-TIP Hospice or All Saints Academy and will be received at the funeral home.
