Rita M. Macke, nee Usselmann, 71 of Breese, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her home. 

Mrs. Macke was born February 10, 1940 in Albers to Frank and Catherine (Norrenberns) Usselmann; they preceded her in death. 

She married Leo Macke on August 31, 1960 at St. Boniface Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on September 9, 1993. 

Also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Agnes Usselmann and Alice Book; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Usselmann, Melvin Wuebbels, Raymond Book, Lawrence Macke, and Rose and John Siegmann. 

Surviving are her children, Kenneth (Phyllis) Macke of Breese, Kathy (fiancé Tim Tebbe) Macke of Jamestown, and Michael (fiancée Susan Drees) Macke of Breese; 4 Grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin Macke, Steve Herndon and Chris Knapp; a Great-Granddaughter, Briana Dawn Macke; sisters, Frances Wuebbels of Germantown and Rose Kraft of Breese; brothers, Erwin Usselmann of New Baden, Robert (Betty) Usselmann of Aviston, Frank (Rita) Usselmann of Breese, Louis Usselmann of Belleville, and Greg (Anna Marie) Usselmann of St. Louis; and a brother-in-law, Joe Macke of Breese. 

Rita was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Church in Breese. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 9:00-9:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to Family Hospice or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
