Margaret A. Lake, nee Winkeler, 92 of Bartelso, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Carlyle Healthcare Center. 

Mrs. Lake was born July 27, 1918 in Bartelso to Frank J. and Mary (Bergmann) Winkeler; they preceded her in death. 

Also preceded in death by brothers, Frank G. “Bud” Winkeler, John Winkeler, and Louis Winkeler; brothers-in-law, Ben Budde, Alfred “Bigfoot” Rickhoff, and Alfred “Fritz” Fuehne; and sisters-in-law, Genevieve “Ginny” Winkeler and Mary Winkeler. 

She married Ralph Lake on May 11, 1948 at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso; he survives in Bartelso. 

Also surviving are brothers, Andy Winkeler of Highland and Alphonse (Kay) Winkeler of New Baden; sisters, Frances Winkeler, Christine Budde, Veronica Rickhoff, and Lucy Fuehne all of Bartelso; sisters-in-law, Virginia Winkeler of Beckemeyer and Marietta Winkeler of Highland; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Margaret formerly worked at the Phone Company in Bartelso and Restoff Market in Bartelso. 

She was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Ladies Sodality and Choir and the Young at Heart Club, Catholic Holy Family Society. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating.  Interment St. Cecilia Cemetery, Bartelso. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.  

Memorials can be made to St. Cecilia Church and will be received at the funeral home.
