Agnes M. Korte, nee Timmermann, 79, of Breese, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Aviston Countryside Manor. 

Mrs. Korte was born June 19, 1931 in St. Rose to Frank and Anna (Boenhoff) Timmermann; they preceded her in death. 

She married Edmund A. “Ed” Korte on May 14, 1952 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston; he preceded her in death on January 2, 2010. 

Also preceded in death by daughters, Karen Ann Korte and Mary Korte; a son, Joseph Korte; sisters-in-law, Marie Rolves and Sr. Judith Korte, ASC; and brothers-in-law, Ferdinand Korte, Joseph Korte, George Korte, Louis Rolves, Francis Luitjohan, and John Luitjohan. 

Surviving is a son, Daniel (Laurie) Korte of St. Louis; a granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Korte; a sister, Josephine Timmermann of Aviston; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerome (Clara) Korte of Collinsville, Ray (Carol Jean) Korte of Belleville, Cyril “Pete” (Jane) Korte of Highland, Alvina Luitjohan of Albers, Veronica Korte of St. Rose, Sr. Florence Korte, ASC of Ruma, and Alice Luitjohan of Albers. 

Agnes retired in January 1994 from St. Joseph Hospital in Breese as the Controller in the Finance Office. 

She was a member of St. Dominic Church, Altar Sodality, and Resurrection Choir, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, and the Daughter of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Dominic Church in Breese with Fr. Patrick Peter officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.

Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 9:00-10:45 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to St. Dominic Church, St. Joseph Hospital Lights for Scholarship, or to Mater Dei High School and will be received at the funeral home. 

The Daughters of Isabella will recite the Rosary at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
