Elizabeth M. “Betty” Ketterer, nee Schumacher, 92, of Beaver Prairie, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. 

Mrs. Ketterer was born March 17, 1918 in St. Rose to Gerhard and Emilia (Holtgrave) Schumacher; they preceded her in death. 

She married Cletus Ketterer on October 23, 1941 at St. Rose Church; he preceded her in death on October 17, 1968. 

Also preceded in death by sisters, Rita Netemeyer and Dolores Kalous; brothers, James, Ed, and Clarence Schumacher; a sister-in-law, Helen Schumacher; and brothers-in-law, Clarence Netemeyer, William Kalous, and Victor Straeter. 

Surviving are her sons, Dan Ketterer of Beaver Prairie, Tom Ketterer of Highland, and John Ketterer of Beaver Prairie; sisters, Mary Straeter of St. Rose and Sr. Aloysia Schumacher, ASC of Ruma; and a sister-in-law, Lidwina Schumacher of St. Rose. 

Betty was a homemaker and an avid quilter.  She was a member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church and Altar Sodality. 

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Felicitas Church in Beaver Prairie with Fr. Larry Nickels officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Felicitas Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Friday, February 25, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 8:00-9:30 AM at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese. 

Memorials can be made to Mater Dei High School or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
