Hazel L. Erwin, nee Shadwick, 94 of Trenton, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Aviston Countryside Manor. 

Mrs. Erwin was born July 22, 1917 in Jefferson City, MO to Albert and Lucille (Barton) Shadwick; they preceded her in death. 

She married Frank Erwin on June 24, 1949 in Lebanon, IL; he preceded her in death on September 29, 1989. 

Also preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Christ. 

Surviving are her children, Mary Ann (Marvin) Wellen of Trenton, Patricia (Harry) Cavanaugh of Gillespie, and Cheryl (Rick) Christ of Trenton; 6 grandchildren, Craig (Estrellita) Wellen, Todd Wellen, Gregg (Melissa) Cavanaugh, Erin (Jason) Sternickle, Whitney (Douglas) DesLauriers, and Courtney (Pete) Melone; 12 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchildren. 

Hazel retired as the Secretary to the Staff Judge Advocate at Scott Air Force Base. 

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and J.O.Y. Society in Trenton and she was an avid quilter. 

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton with Rev. Linda Coulson officiating.  Interment will follow in Trenton Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 AM at St. John United Church of Christ in Trenton. 

Memorials can be made to the church and will be received at the church or through Moss Funeral Home who is in charge of the arrangements.
