Dorothy C. Beckmann, nee Winter, 86,
of Germantown, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Joseph
Hospital in Breese.
Mrs. Beckmann was born September 26,
1924 in Germantown TWP to
Henry and Anna (Kahrhoff) Winter; they preceded her in death.
Also preceded in death by sisters,
Pauline Billhartz, Eleanor Winter, and Marie Warnecke; brothers,
Louis Winter and Alvin Winter; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Fern Winter, Virgil Warnecke, Franklin Billhartz, Harold Kaatman,
Norbert Kalmer, Florence and Ollie Holtmann, Leon and Johanna
Beckmann, Mac and Cattie Beckmann, Leona and Charlie Mueller, Carrie
and Ed Hagenhoff, and Grace and Pete Meier.
She married Alfred “Fred” Beckmann
on May 7, 1946 at St.
Boniface Church in
Germantown; he survives in Germantown.
Also surviving are her children,
Dale (fiancé Diane Biffar) Beckmann of Germantown, Mary Kay (Dan)
Sutton of Glendale, AZ, and Coleen (Jerry) Schroeder of Germantown;
5 grandchildren, Christian (Tammy) Schroeder, Brad (Heidi)
Schroeder, Aric (fiancé Andrea Linders) Schroeder, Anna (Ryan)
Venhaus, Matthew Schroeder; 6 great-grandchildren, Austin Richter,
Olyvia, Troy, Cole, and Craig Schroeder, and Madeline Venhaus; a
sister, Ruth Dahir of Gardener, MA; and sisters-in-law and
brother-in-law, Ruth Winter of Belleville, Pat Kaatman of St. Louis,
Sue Kalmer of Germantown, and Vern (Nancy) Beckmann of St. Louis.
Dorothy retired as a seamstress at
Highland Garment and was a member of St. Boniface Church and Altar
Sodality and Germantown American Legion Post 325 Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial
will be Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 AM
at St. Boniface Catholic Church in
Germantown with Fr. James Buerster
and Deacon Rich Bagby officiating. Interment will follow in St.
Boniface Cemetery, Germantown.
Visitation will be Thursday,
December 30, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Friday, December
31, 2010 from 8:00-9:45 AM at
the Moss Funeral Home in
Germantown.
Memorials can be made to the
Germantown Fire Department First Responders, St. Joseph Hospital
Lights for Scholarship, or VNA-TIP Hospice and will be received at
the funeral home.
The Germantown American Legion
Auxiliary will visit the funeral home at 7:00 PM Thursday evening. |
